A Bardstown Kentucky Wedding at Bespoke in Bond

There’s something about a wedding day that doesn’t take itself too seriously. This laid back Bardstown, Kentucky wedding at Bespoke in Bond was chill, full of personality, and genuinely FUN from beginning to end. Instead of worrying about every little detail being perfectly posed or perfectly planned, these two seemed much more interested in actually enjoying their wedding day — which, as a photographer, is what I love to see.

We spent part of the day exploring some of Bardstown’s most recognizable spots for portraits, including downtown Bardstown and My Old Kentucky Home, before celebrating at Bespoke in Bond.

The result was a wedding gallery that feels like them: joyful, relaxed, romantic, and just a little bit playful.

Wedding Portraits in Downtown Bardstown, Kentucky

One of my favorite parts about photographing weddings in Bardstown is how much variety you can get without traveling far.

Downtown Bardstown gave us the perfect backdrop for portraits that felt a little less traditional and a lot more like an afternoon spent exploring together.

Historic architecture, sidewalks, storefronts and the character of downtown added so much personality to their wedding portraits without taking away from the two of them.

And because this couple was so naturally laid-back, we didn’t need to turn portraits into a production.

We walked. We laughed. They loved on each other.

I photographed what happened in between.

Those in-between moments are almost always some of my favorites.

Wedding Photos at My Old Kentucky Home

Of course, if you’re getting married in Bardstown, it’s hard to pass up the opportunity for portraits at My Old Kentucky Home.

The historic grounds created a completely different feel from our downtown portraits, giving them a mix of classic Kentucky scenery and more playful, documentary-inspired photographs throughout their gallery.

That’s one of the things I love most about building time for portraits into a wedding day without letting them completely take over the experience.

You can have the beautiful, frame-worthy wedding portraits and photographs that feel spontaneous and alive.

You shouldn’t have to choose between the two.

A Bespoke in Bond Wedding in Bardstown

The celebration continued at Bespoke in Bond in Bardstown, KY, where the relaxed energy of the day carried straight into the celebration.

Nothing about this wedding felt overly stuffy or formal.

It was simply two people having an incredible day with the people they love most — laughing, celebrating, and actually being present for it.

Those are the wedding days I could photograph forever.

While I’ll always make time for the portraits your family will frame and the details you spent months choosing, I’m also watching for everything happening around them.

The reactions.

The ridiculous laughs.

The people you love being themselves.

The way your new spouse looks at you when no one is paying attention.

The moments you didn’t even realize were happening.

Because someday, those may be the photographs that take you right back to how your wedding actually felt.

Bardstown is such a beautiful place for a Kentucky wedding, especially if you love historic architecture, traditional Kentucky scenery and a charming downtown that gives you plenty of options for wedding portraits.

Whether you’re planning a Bespoke in Bond wedding, getting married near My Old Kentucky Home, or celebrating at another Bardstown wedding venue, you don’t have to spend your entire wedding day posing for photographs to end up with a beautiful gallery.

My approach to wedding photography is a mix of guidance when you need it and space to actually experience what’s happening.

We’ll make the beautiful portraits.

Then I’ll let you get back to your people.

Looking for a Bardstown KY Wedding Photographer?

If you’re planning a wedding in Bardstown, Louisville, Lexington, or anywhere throughout Kentucky and you’re looking for wedding photography that feels joyful, genuine and true to you, I’d love to hear what you’re planning.

I’m especially drawn to couples who care more about experiencing their wedding than performing for the camera — the ones who aren’t afraid to laugh loudly, let things get a little messy, and soak in every bit of the day.

Because your wedding photographs should be beautiful.

But more importantly, they should feel like your memories.
