An Elegant Black Tie Wedding at Hermitage Farm in Louisville, Kentucky

There’s something about classic black tuxedos, a beautiful lace gown, and a wedding that ends with everyone on the dance floor. This black tie wedding at Hermitage Farm in Goshen, Kentucky, had all of that and so much more.

Just outside Louisville, this celebration brought together an editorial feel, romantic details, and so much joy. It was elegant and luxurious, but still felt relaxed and full of personality—which is such a beautiful combination to photograph.

Romantic Wedding Portraits at Hermitage Farm

The light coming through the windows at Hermitage Farm made such a beautiful setting for bridal portraits. With soft curtains, antique furniture, and the detail in the bride’s lace gown, these photographs have a romantic feel that I love.

Her long train and veil added so much to the images, but some of my favorite photographs are the simpler ones: a smile by the window, a quiet moment adjusting her dress, or her reflection in a piece of artwork.

I love having room for a little creativity while still making photographs that feel true to the day. Those small moments deserve to be remembered just as much as the big ones.

Classic Black Tie Style, with Plenty of Fun

The groom and groomsmen wore classic black tuxedos, which looked so good alongside the bride’s lace gown. Their portraits had that polished, editorial look, but there was also plenty of laughter and personality.

That’s something I always love about photographing weddings. We can create beautiful, intentional portraits and still leave room for you to enjoy being with your people. Sometimes those in-between moments become the photographs you love most.

And the bride’s sparkling reception dress? Such a fun change from her ceremony look and perfect for the dance floor.

A Celebration Worth Remembering

The petal toss was one of those moments that looks exactly how a wedding should feel: happy, a little chaotic, and surrounded by people who are excited for you.

The celebration continued with colorful flowers, candle-filled tables, and a tented reception that brought everyone together. Then came the dancing, with photographs full of movement and energy.

I love that this gallery holds both sides of the day—the soft, romantic portraits and the joy of a really good party. Together, they tell a much fuller story.
